The Bentley Model United Nations Program is a group of students interested in international affairs who research topics concerning the UN and then put this knowledge to use by hosting two conferences for High School and Middle School students.
Every January, the secretariat of our conference spends one week at the United Nations in New York. During this week, our members are briefed by members of the UN secretariat, permanent representatives to the United Nations, as well as by other groups who figure prominently into the affairs of the United Nations.

Singapore has clinched the title of Top International Meetings City within the UIA 2009 Global Rankings for the third consecutive year.
This affirms Singapore’s standing as a leading business events destination, ahead of 1,653 cities.
Singapore also climbed a area, from third position in the 2008 rankings, to be placed since the 2nd ‘Top Worldwide Group meetings Country’ out of 194 qualifying nations.

Key examples of these group meetings contain the Singapore Intercontinental Energy Week ‘09 (SIEW), the Singapore Worldwide Water Week 2009 (SIWW), APEC ‘09, Congress from the World Federation of Hainanese Associations 2009, FDI Annual Entire world Dental Congress 2009, the 78th Interpol General Assembly 2009, the Congress with the Intercontinental Society for Vascular Behavioural & Cognitive Disorders, and the Overseas Council of Societies of Industrial Design (ICSID) Congress 2009, all of which drew robust attendance.

Singapore’s Company Travel, and Meetings, Incentives, Conventions and Exhibitions (MICE) industry continues to surge ahead with recent new wins.
Thus far, from September 2010 to 2016, there will be a total of 160 association conferences with an expected attendance of more than 170,000 global delegates and participants.
Key examples include the Globe Model United Nations (WorldMUN) 2011, Public Broadcasters Global 2011, the American Association of Petroleum Geologists Annual Conference 2012, the 13th International Conference of Associated research Centres for Urban Underground Space (ACUUS) 2012, 2013 Worldwide Congress on Ultrasonics, Asian-Pacific Congress on Computational Mechanics (APCOM) 2013, and the 8th Worldwide Conference on Social Work in Health and Mental Health 2016.

STANFORD, Calif., Aug. 24 (AScribe Newswire) — A startup enterprise development manager in vitality and healthcare; reality TV contestant-turned sportscaster; marathon runner/clean technology analyst; founding member from the Climate Change Unique Initiative in Asia; and strategic management analyst and avid Dallas Mavericks fan have been named 2011 Siebel Scholars.
These 5 accomplished second-year MBA college students on the Stanford Graduate School of Business (GSB) join an elite group chosen by a faculty committee dependent on academic achievement and demonstrated leadership within the enterprise college community throughout their 1st year for the college. The honor includes a tuition grant of $35,000 from the software, established in 2000 by the Siebel Foundation to recognize the most talented students at the world’s leading graduate schools of enterprise and pc science.
The 5 Class of 2011 Stanford MBA students are: Danielle Buckley, Arvind Iyengar, Sumi Kim, Shane Lauf, and Amanda Luther.
Danielle Buckley is CFO from the business enterprise school’s Large Tech Club along with a member with the leadership group in the Wellness Care Club. She spent the summer in Seattle at Microsoft working like a product manager in their Startup Company Group, exactly where she led study to recommend the ongoing enterprise plan for Hohm, an on the web energy management platform. Prior to her studies on the GSB, Buckley was manager of business enterprise advancement at American Well, a Boston-based application startup that enables live on the internet medical consultations. Previously, she worked being a consultant on the Boston Consulting Group in which she served on case teams inside the higher tech, wellbeing care, and consumer goods industries. As a government key at Harvard, she was Inter-Collegiate Model United Nations System head and president from the Ballroom Dance Group. She is originally from Milford, Pa.
Arvind Iyengar fulfilled a childhood dream to pursue a career in sports when he competed against 10,000 participants in his native India and finished second on the reality show, “Dream Job,” landing a role as an on- air sportscaster on Sportscenter with ESPNSTAR Singapore/India. Prior to his star turn on television, he worked as a strategic consultant at McKinsey & Company for two years. Iyengar received his undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering from IIT Bombay in 2006. While a student he enjoyed taking part in cultural competitions, winning over 100 inter-collegiate events in debating, dramatics, quizzing, and other literary contests. In the GSB, Iyengar has been involved in multiple extracurricular activities including: serving on the Dean’s Task Force and the Academic Committee, co-president on the Sports Management Club, and leading the India Global Study Trip. He has continued to pursue his passion for sports for the GSB, authoring a popular sports column for the on the net Castrol Cricket fan site. He spent the past summer for the New York headquarters of the National Basketball Association.
Sumi Kim is a joint-degree student pursuing her MBA and MS in environment and resources. For the GSB she served as co-president in the Vitality Club and has been a member on the Alumni Committee since 2008. Prior to the GSB, Kim worked for McKinsey & Company in New York from 2004-2006 before heading to Aspire Public Schools, a statewide nonprofit charter college management organization based in Oakland, Calif. In 2007, she rejoined McKinsey in their San Francisco office specializing in the Clean Technology and Climate Change practices. She is passionate about issues around power and the environment, and spent her summers working for a solar startup, a large integrated vitality and utility company, and most recently, an power efficiency startup. Kim is a magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Harvard, where she received her undergraduate degree in social studies. She is a native of Lafayette, Calif. and is an avid runner, cyclist, and lover on the outdoors.
Shane Lauf is an Arbuckle Leadership Fellow with the GSB and co-president from the Environmentally Sustainable Organization Club. In support of his business enterprise interest in technology solutions for clean energy and transportation, Lauf worked this summer at Primus Power, a startup producing batteries for grid- scale storage, and Samsung. Prior to the GSB, Lauf served four years as management consultant at McKinsey & Company in Tokyo, exactly where he was a founding member with the Climate Change Special Initiative in Asia. A University Medal recipient at the University of Wollongong in Australia, he pursued a combined bachelor of engineering/bachelor of arts degree. Lauf, who grew up in Canberra, Australia, is bilingual in Japanese and is the bass guitarist for the GSB Band.
Before commencing studies with the GSB, Amanda Luther spent two years for a management consultant with the Boston Consulting Group in Dallas in which she worked on strategy and performance improvement projects, primarily in the consumer goods, travel, and retail industries. She earned her undergraduate degrees at Stanford in economics and laptop or computer science, both with distinction. She also received the Terman Award bestowed on the top 5 percent of graduates inside School of Engineering. At the GSB, Luther’s interests have focused on sports management. She is chair from the Athletic Committee, serves on the Student Association Senate and the leadership teams for the Sports Management, Brewers Guild, and Basketball clubs. She spent her summer working on unique projects for Mark Cuban, owner with the Dallas Mavericks.
Throughout the past 10 years the Siebel Scholars System has created a community of more than 600 scholars that fosters personal leadership, academic achievement, and the collaborative search for solutions to pressing societal problems. As future leaders within the fields of business and laptop or computer science, these students will have the opportunity to directly influence the technologies, policies, and economic and societal decisions that shape the future.
